Long Time No Update...

Not much has been happening around here so I haven't been updating my blog. I planned to attend a couple of Ren Faires but the weather just wouldn't cooperate. Something about walking around fair grounds in the rain, mud and cold isn't very appealing to me.

One thing I have done recently is to stop coloring my hair. It's been close to 15 years since I've seen my natural color. As I surmised, my natural color has been mostly replaced with natural grey. Last week, my hairdresser cut off any remaining dye and now it's just me --- au natural. There's more grey than I would like but it's not as bad as I expected. Several people have commented that my hair looks as though it's been frosted.

Yesterday was my Josh's (nephew) birthday. My parents had a small family party for him. My gift to Josh is to have him spend Thanksgiving weekend at my house. Of course, he still doesn't know about his gift since I want to be certain it's ok with DCF before we tell him. I think he will enjoy a weekend away and I KNOW my parents will enjoy the time. If the weather is decent, we'll go to the tree lighting/carol sing on Constitution Plaza in Hartford. I'll also use the time to take him shopping for Christmas presents.

Darryl was going to replace my muffle and exhaust yesterday. Only one problem, no one had mufflers, for my car, in stock. Oh well, I'll order one this week and he'll replace it next weekend. Let's just hope the nice weather holds out for him since he doesn't have a garage where he can work inside. I'll have to spend another week of people staring when I step on the gas peddle.

While at my parents house we had a surprise visitor ---- someone from our long past. Someone I haven't seen since probably the late 70's. His family used to live a few houses away from us and I was their babysitter. Marsha may remember him --- Eddie Moore. He had been thinking about us and decided to see if my parents were still in the same house. When he drove up the driveway, he saw Dad and recognized him immediately. Eddie is married and has 3 kids of his own now. He lives in Brooklyn but works in Newington as a graphic artist. His Mom, brothers and sisters still live in the area. Anyway, he gave me his e-mail address and we're hoping to reconnect. Darryl and I were just talking about them a couple of weeks ago, wondering if they were still in the area.
